Apparently to justify Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s Mo Sarkar initiative as a people-centric programme, top bureaucrats preferred an Aahar centre for taking food with public on Friday.
Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy, 5T Secretary V Karthikeyan Pandian and National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) Director Shalini Pandit chose to have subsidised Rs 5-lunch at the Aahar centre during their visit to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Boudh to review healthcare facilities and infrastructures under the Mo Sarkar programme.
The incidence was caught on camera showing the plates filled with rice and dalma and the officials enjoying their meal ignoring their official positions.
It could be an unexpected approach by IAS officers, but the motto behind creating a new culture in the administration seemed to examine the qualities of food being served at the Aahar centre to poor people visiting hospitals.
Tripathy along with Pandian and Pandit was on a visit to three districts on the day to review implementation of the Mo Sarkar initiative launched on the last Gandhi Jayanti day.
The three-member team interacted with patients and hospital authorities in Kandhamal, Boudh and Nayagarh districts.
