The Cuttack city police after arresting a builder on cheating charges forwarded him to court on Wednesday. The Badambadi police on Tuesday night had arrested proprietor of local Raghupati Builders and Promoters Pravat Nanda on a written complaint filed by one Manjulata Samal.

“Nanda had taken an amount of Rs 1.20 lakh from Samal in 2003 towards an advance for a plot. But the proprietor failed to provide the land to her despite repeated requests and, instead, threatened her of dire consequence,” said Badambadi police station Inspector Ranjit Kumar Prusty. Nanda was booked and forwarded to court. As per an unconfirmed report, Nanda was granted bail in the evening.
