A city-based builder was found dead under mysterious circumstances with bullet injury on his body at his residence here on Thursday.
The body of Prafulla Ojha was found lying in a bed at the 6th floor of the Banaja Apartment in Unit-VI with a gun in his hand. His mother and niece were present at the time of the incident, police said.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Ojha was under stress due to family dispute and took the extreme step.
"Prima facie, it is a suicide case. It is known from the preliminary investigation that he had some disputes with his wife. We have seized some notes which are being examined. The revolver was an unlicenced one," said Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi, adding that investigation is on in the case from all angles.
A forensic team collected blood samples from the spot and seized the gun which would also be sent for test.
Sources said Ojha's wife was staying separate from him for the last six months while his son and daughter were staying with him in the apartment.
Meanwhile, Ojha's friends also informed the police that he was under stress for six months.
