NRO (non-resident Odia) and Professor of American University of Beirut Digambara Patra, who is a local of Kalahandi, has urged Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for building a two-lane concrete road of 2km stretch from the Panchayat College to Dharamgarh godown in Gambhariguda, which comes presently under Dharamgarh-Khairpadar PMGSY road.
The Dharamgarh-Khairpadar PMGSY road is presently in worst condition. The heavy vehicles movement to Dharamgarh godown in the route has caused severe damages to the stretch, especially from Dharamgarh to Gambhariguda. Although the road has been built under PMGSY, it is serving the interest of Dharamgarh subdivision through the existing godown in the route, said Patra.
He added that since the Odisha Government is planning to make four-lane routes for all sub divisional headquarters, it should also build the road.
