The Odisha Suraksha Sena has condemned the Western culture of buffet system, which was followed during the distribution of Mahaprasad of lord Jagannath on the occasion of the Brahma Parivartan’s Trayodashi Tithi at the Puri Badadanda. There is no example of such Western-style distribution of Mahaprasad in the Jagannath cult. Such unfortunate practice by the temple administration would be strongly opposed in coming days, said Suraksha Sena president Abhisek Joshi.
Joshi further said, “The Mahaprasad should be taken inside the temple premises; distribution of the temple food at the Badadanda not only shows disregard to the Jagannath culture but also hurts religious sentiments of Jagannath devotees.”Due to such a mentality of Shree Mandir Chief Administrator, the Jagannath cult will be exposed to criticism in the entire world, he said, adding the Sena would strongly oppose such an attitude of the temple administration.
