Students of the Berhampur University (BU) on Monday demanded a new ambulance for the university campus to provide them emergency service at the time of need.
The students of various departments staged a dharna in front of the PG Council office by blocking university buses on Monday afternoon demanding repairing of roads, wi-fi campus, smart classrooms and a new ambulance.
The students alleged that the university authorities are yet to open the newly-built hostel meant for SC and ST students though its construction has already been completed several days ago. The students also demanded repairing of computer labs, other department labs of the varsity and classrooms.
After university Vice-Chancellor Prof Deepak Behera, Registrar Manmath Padhy and Student Welfare Officer Prafulla Dalei came to the spot and assured the students of full cooperation, they called off the dharna.
