The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the State Crime Branch on Thursday arrested a former office assistant, Subrat Piri (52), of the Odisha Gramya Bank’s Ratei branch under Baliapal block in Baleswar district on the charge of embezzlement of Rs 2 crore of the bank.
He was forwarded to a local court. later, he was sent to jail after the court rejected his bail petition. The EOW has started investigation into the case on the basis of a complaint of the bank’s branch manager about financial scam.
