B'swar NCP unit to merge in BJD

After former Nationalist Congress Party (NCP)  leader Arun Dey joined the  Biju Janata Dal (BJD) last week, the workers and leaders of the NCP local unit here have decided to back Dey and join the ruling party.

In a Press brief, NCP district president Ranjan Baug informed that the district unit has virtually ceased to exist after Dey’s joining in the BJD.

“We are happy and ready to work for him and the BJD,” Baug said. Abdul Mohit Khan, Nabakishor Behera, Ghanshyam Giri and Santanu Das were among others present.

While Dilip Ray, a former Rajya Sabha member, was earlier elected to the Assembly from Rourkela twice, Shankar Oram was elected to the Assembly once and Behera would seek elections for the first time.

BJP Sundargarh lok Sabha candidate Jual Oram will file his nominations on Saturday, the last day of the filing of nominations.
