A customer of a private bank on Thursday alleged that unknown miscreants have siphoned about Rs56,000 from his account.

Susanta Panda (40), a resident of Angargadia in Baleswar district, in the morning found that an amount of Rs55,980 was debited from his account. He found that an online transaction was made from his account at 2.55 am (last night).

“I went to the bank and then to the local police station. The police said it was a case of cyber crime. So, I have to move to Cuttack to lodge an FIR. I got the account debit message in my registered mobile phone number, but no OTP before final transaction was received. I am scared now to have digital transaction. The culprits should identified and punished,” said Panda.
