A reunion has taken place in the Family Court here under the guidance of the court’s judge Girish Kumar Mishra with the efforts of consellors and lawyers.

With this, a three-year-old martial dispute came to end and the couple went their home happy after an amicable settlement.

The dispute was between Gitanjali and her husband Chandrasekhar Patra, who is a technical officer at the PXE, Chandipur, Baleswar. They are married since 2005 and have an eight-year-old son.

The acrimony between them arose due to several reasons, including differences of taste and opinion.

As the strained relationship deteriorated, Gitanjali lodged a case of dowry torture in December 2012 and then filed a petition seeking maintenance from the Family Court in January 2013.

Again in January 2013, she filed a case of domestic violence.

The cases were running in the respective Family Court and Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate Court. The Family Court after taking evidences had awarded a sum of Rs 6,000 per month to Chandrasekhar towards Gitanjali’s monthly maintenance.

In the meantime, after a lot of persuasions of the advocates and counsellors, the couple agreed to forget their past differences and stay together, presently at the DRDO Colony near the Kendriya Vidyalaya,  Baleswar happily.
