The Border Security Force (BSF) personnel on Wednesday night busted a Maoist camp and seized a cache of arms and explosives from Chiliba forests in lamtaput of Koraput district.
On a tipoff, BSF jawans of 13 th Battalion stationed in the Machkund-Anakadeli area launched combing operation in the night and recovered the arms and other materials kept hidden in the forest by the Red rebels. However, no one was arrested in the incident as the rebels had fled from the spot spotting the security personnel.
The seized items included two Single Barrel Muzzle loaded (SBMl) guns, nine detonators, 80mt flexible wire, 3 kg urea, a tiffin bomb weighing 3kg, 12 volt battery, petrol and several other explosive materials. It was suspected that the Red rebels had stockpiled the weapons to launch a major offensive against the police and security forces.
