The Malkangiri police have arrested BSF 43 Battalion Constable Suresh Kumar on the charge of duping a woman of Malkangiri district and sexually exploiting her.
During 2012, while BSF’s 43 Battalion was stationed at MV 79 under Kalimela PS area of Malkangiri district, Suresh came in contact with the victim woman of Chitrakonda. In September 2013, the accused Suresh took the victim from Chitrakonda to Sonepat in Haryana and kept her in a rented house.
The accused had physical relation with her as a result of which the victim delivered a girl child in 2014.
After the birth of the child, the accused discontinued contact with the victim and did not contact her. The victim stayed at Sonepat for six months and waited for Suresh. As he did not turn up, so finding no other way, the victim returned to Chitrakonda to her paternal house and waited for arrival As the accused did not come to take her back, the victim reported the matter to Chitrakonda police on February 27,2017.
The police during investigations ascertained that Suresh had trafficked the victim to Sonepat, Haryana, for the purpose of sexual exploitation of the victim and cohabited with her after deceitfully inducing a false belief of marriage. Besides, they have ascertained that he is a resident of Rohat village in Sonepat district of Haryana.
After ascertaining the present place of posting of accused Suresh, a four member police team arrested him from Murshidabad in West Bengal and took him on remand after producing him in a local court. He was brought to Malkangiri and later forwarded to the local SDJM court under various sections of IPC.
