British Council to develop English skill at KIIT

Over 54,000 students and faculty belonging to the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University and the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) stand to benefit from a range of opportunities that would be available as the result of a partnership with the British Council.

In this connection, two MoUs were signed between the British Council India and the KIIT-KISS on November 10. On behalf of the British Council, Alan Gemmell OBE, Director British Council India and Prof Sasmita Samanta, Registrar, KIIT along with Dr Prashant Routray, CEO, KISS signed the MoUs for KIIT and KISS, respectively.

They would work on developing initiatives to improve capacity and motivation of English language teachers and faculty in the KIIT International School, Schools of Technology, School of Management and School of Medicine at KIIT.

They would develop the English language proficiency of students across schools to improve employability and soft skills.

Also, they would promote faculty mobility to provide international exposure through exchange programmes between KIIT and the UK universities.

Expressing his happiness, KIIT and KISS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta said, “We thank the British Council India for their continuous support to our mission of empowerment through education.”
