Bribe case: Ex-city ASI gets 2.5-yr RIB

Published on:

The Vigilance court here on Monday awarded two and a half years of rigorous imprisonment to former ASI of the Air Field police station in Bhubaneswar Pandari Sahu and imposed a fine of Rs4,000 on him after convicting him in a bribe case.

A charge was filed way back in 2002 against Sahu on the allegations that he had demanded and accepted bribe of Rs1,000 from a complainant, Dwibendu Pradhan, for not taking action against him in an incident.

Sahu, who is retired now, would undergo another rigorous imprisonment for seven months if fails to pay the fine.
