On June 6, while Namita Acharya (29) was pillion riding in a bike riden by her husband Bibhuti Bhusan Padhy from Baripada to Udala, she faced a gang of chain-snatchers.
All of a sudden, three unidentified men on a Pulsar bike rushed close to the couple’s vehicle and attempted to snatch away her costly gold necklace. But brave Namita did not let them succeed. She fearlessly fought them hard, beat them, bit them with her teeth and scratched their bodies with her nails. The scuffle went on for quite some time. Failing to rob her of, the snatchers fled the scene.
The inspiring story of the bold lady, who could fight out three anti-socials, totally single-handedly, yet successfully, that too from a running bike, is now being discussed in different circles in the district. Namita has now become a morale-booster for all others.
