Vigilance police on Friday arrested Manoj Kumar Mohanty, Junior Clerk of Brahmagiri Sub-Registrar office in Puri district, for taking bribe of Rs 3,500 to issue a marriage certificate.
One Rabindra Kumar Pujari of Bedhasundar under the Brahmagiri police station had lodged a complaint that Mohanty demanded the bribe amount for processing the file to issue marriage certificate to his friend Hrushikesh Jena and Seemarekha Jena. Accordingly, Vigilance sleuths laid a trap and caught Mohanty while demanding and accepting the bribe amount from Mohanty.
