Of the four Badagrahi Daitapatis served notice for irregularities in the Brahma Parivartan ritual by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Sunday, three appeared before the court of the SJTA Chief and separately got their statements recorded as to what exactly happened inside the temple on June 15 night.
Earlier, in the wake of much hue and cry over delay in Brahama Parivartan ritual, the SJTA had issued show-cause notices to all four Badagrahi Daitapatis, Biswakramas and president and secretary of the Daitapati Nijog to submit their statement by June 21.
On Sunday, Nabakishore Patimahapatra, the Badagrahi of Sudarshan, Haladhar Dasmahapatra, the Badagrahi of Balabahdra and Ramchandra Dasmahapatra, the Badagrahi of Subhadra appeared before the court and submitted their statements. The Badagrahi of lord Jagannath Jagannath Swain Mahapatra did not turn up till filling of this report.
The chief of Swotriya Brahmins engaged in performing an 11-day yajna in the Koilibaikuntha was also asked to file his statement explaining the delay in the Purnaahuti.  The Purnaahuti of the yajna scheduled for 4.30 pm on the Monday (June 15) was held at 2.30 am next day.
Chhatisha Nijog in a meeting held on the Saturday condemned the Daitapatis who broke the thousand years’ temple tradition and hurt the sentiments of devotees. Nijog chief Janardan Pattajoshi Mahapatra demanded stringent punishment against the persons found guilty. The SJTA Chief was scheduled to address the Chhatisha Nijog members in the temple late this day.
