'Brahma photos in social media are fake'

The photo of Brahma (life substance) and some other photographs of the secret rituals of lord Jagannath in circulation in social media are fake, said Crime Branch sources on Friday.The photographs relating to burial (Patali) of old idols of the deities are also fake, the sources said. According to the sources, preliminary investigations show these photographs are of the idols of an ashram in Bhadrak district.

On Thursday, a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Crime Branch led by Inspector AK Nayak visited the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) office in Puri for investigation into the photos. As none other than specific Daitapati priests have seen the Brahma, it was essential to record their statements to ascertain the Brahma's authenticity.It was alleged that some members of the Daitapatis had taken mobile phones to the prohibited areas during the Brahma Parivartan and Patali rituals on June 15-16.
