The Mouthpiece, a Puri-based forum engaged in many social and educational activities, on Friday urged President Pranab Mukherjee to order for a CBI probe into the inordinate delay of Brahmap Parivartan (transfer of souls) ritual conducted in the Shree Mandir, Puri, on June 15. “The inordinate delay in the ‘Brahma Parivartan’ ritual of deities at the Shree Jaganath Temple in Puri has hit sentiments of billions of devotees to a great extent. Daitapatis, the soul transferors, are suspected to have knowingly done it as some of them are ruling party leaders.
Swapping of Brahmas might have been done for use in witchcraft in order to meet someone’s political goal,” pointed out Mouthpiece convenor Saroj Mishara in a letter to the President. Hailing the president as an ardent devotee of lord Jagannath and protector of religions, the letter urged him to order for a CBI probe into the incident. It also apprehended that the departmental probe ordered by the Shree Jatannath Temple Administration (SJTA) might not be able to bring out the truth in view of Daitapatis’ link to the ruling party.
