Brahma fiasco probe report to be out in Oct

The much-awaited inquiry report pertaining to the Brahma Paribartan fiasco during the 2015 Nabakalebar Yatra, which is pending in the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) office, would be out in October.

As per sources, an interim report would be submitted at the temple managing committee towards end of September. As per recommendation of the sub-committee, actions would be slapped on servitors involved in the Brahma Parivartan mess.

The root of suspense is the content of the probe report after long three years and action on the erring Daitapatis, who are still scot-free.

Since most of the culprits are allegedly supporters of the ruling BJD, the BJP charged that the report is nothing but eyewash ahead of 2019 polls. The Government is shielding its people involved in the Brahma Parivartan disturbances, charged BJP spokesperson Sajjan Sharma.

“Naveen Patnaik is a great enemy of Lord Jagannath. To break old customs and traditions of Jagannath is his only motive.

He has no knowledge of Odia culture.

The sooner he goes away, the better for Odisha,” said Sharma when asked about his reaction over probe report not being made public. Sharma questioned, “Has any enquiry report come during Naveen Government?” charging that the Chief Minister knows only to constitute inquiry commission and spare hard-earned money of the poor.

“What actions the CM has taken on the offenders in so many enquiries,” asked Sharma, saying it is a disabled Government.

It may be recollected that on June 15, 2015, Daitapati servitors had delayed establishing the souls into the newly built wooden idols due to in-fighting among them, unleashing a hue and cry.
