A delegation of the Ganjam unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Thursday submitted a memorandum to the Governor through the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Southern Range) demanding a judicial probe into the Brahma Parivartan delay incident in the Shreemandir, Puri.Hundreds of VHP activists led by Dharmaraj Sahu, Dr Prasant Kumar Pati, Prabhat Kumar Sadangi and N Rajendra Kumar went in a rally to the RDC office and submitted the memorandum. The VHP activists alleged that centuries’ old tradition of holding Braham Parivartan ritual in nighttime was deliberately violated by some of the Daitapati servitors. They held the State Government and the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration fully responsible for the fiasco taken place on June 15 on the eve of Nabakalebara.Such chaotic and deliberate act of few entities has severely hurt the sentiments of all the devotees of lord Jagannath throughout the world for which stringent action should be initiated against the wrongdoers and a judicial probe be ordered for the same, the VHP leaders said.
