BPUT launches various portals for better services

For better and transparent functioning of the Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), the authorities have launched various portals, said sources.

According to BPUT Registrar MR Nayak, a students’ grievance (Chhatraabhiyoga) site was launched through which a student of any affiliated or constituent college can put his/her grievances by registering in www.bput.ac.in under the student grievances link without visiting the university. After registering, the student would be provided with a unique number by which he/she can track his / her grievances status. All these grievances registered are monitored regularly by the concerned officials of various departments to resolve the same in a time bound manner, added Nayak.

Besides, the university authority is in a process of finalising the mode and method for video conferencing system to interact with the Government departments as well as the constituent and affiliated colleges with the help of broadband internet connection. In the first phase, the system would function to interact with technical education and other related Government departments along with constituent colleges while in second phase this will move towards all the colleges affiliated with BPUT as per source. With this, various issues related to functioning of the university as well as colleges are to be resolved in a time bound manner.

About 97 per cent of the pending degree certificates of the students of 2012-13 academic session were also handed over to respective colleges. With these initiatives all the backlogs in degree certificate distribution were cleared off. Furthermore, a process has already initiated for filling of some senior and medium level non-teaching posts of the universities by which various administrative works of the university would be speeded up, added Nayak.
