After student unrest, now it is the turn of the nonteaching staffs of the Brahmapur University to resort to agitation.
The Class-III employees of the university have decided to wear black badges as a mark of their action in support of their long-standing demands. As per the decision of the Class-III Employees’ Union, they would put on black badges for two days, followed by a dharna by the union’s office-bearers and execute council members in front of the chamber of the Vice-Chancellor for three days from November 14 and strike by all employees for an indefinite period from November 18.
“We are compelled to resort to agitation as the university authorities did not heed to our genuine demands for years,” said union general secretary Durga Charan Hota in a Press release here on Sunday.Though the union submitted its charter of demands to the university authorities a month ago, the latter has turned deaf ears to the demands. So, the union at an emergency meeting decided to resort to agitation,
he added.
