The general body meeting of Berhampur University Class-III Employees Association was held at Bhanja Bihar, presided over by Narendra Kumar Bisoyee.
Outgoing general secretary lokanath Mahapatra read out the accounts of the previous financial year. The association unanimously elected KC Adhikari as president, Dr Ramakanta Padhi as vice president, Durgacharan Hota as general secretary, Arun Chandra Das as secretary and Sreenibash Padhi as treasurer. In addition, 25 employees were elected to the executive body.
The association unanimously adopted a resolution condemning the partial attitude and ill treatment shown to a section of university employees by the previous administration and welcomed the new Vice Chancellor whom they hope would bring transparency and accountability in university administration, besides treating equally to all sections of the employees, said association senior member Kanhucharan Panda.
Among others, the meeting also discussed about implementation of revised staffing pattern like ASO etc as followed in the Odisha Secretariat, hike in the annual medical allowance from `1,000 to `3,000 in view of the spiraling cost, payment and timely deposit of employer’s contribution towards pension as per revised pension scheme of 2005, amendment of non-teaching recruitment rules, fixation of pay of the store keepers as per the revised pay scales of 2006, implementation of revised ACP scheme for the university employees and regularisation of daily wagers and contractual employees.
