local residents can now access to various services at all police stations under the Brahmapur police district online with introduction of a computerisation system at the police stations.
The Brahmapur police wing would provide tablets to all the police stations and their officers-in-charge. The police stations would be connected with the SP Office through internet. By this, people can file complaints, apply for character certificate, FIR copy, seek permission for staging stirs and rally, file report for lost of ATM, phone and passport and missing persons, etc at anytime through online. However, in case of lodging FIRs, the person has to go the concerned police station first and further course of actions would be carried out online. The online reporting system would remain open for 24 hours.
People can access to all this service by logging in to the www.citizenportal-op-gov.in. The service was inaugurated by Brahmapur SP Sarthak Sarangi on Sunday. Among others, DIG Amitabh Thakur and other senior police officers of several police stations were present. Plans are afoot to add more services to the portal, said a district official.
