B'pur pharmacy college students stage demo

Hundreds of students of the Roland Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences here resorted to Dharna in front of their college pressing for their 22-point charter of demands on Tuesday.

The demands include uninterrupted water and electricity supply to the college campus, procurement of nascent and adequate learning resources for the library, appointment of faculties in various departments, procurement of modern scientific equipments and apparatus for the laboratories, adequate hostel facilities for the students and repair and renovation of the college building.

The agitated students called off their stir when a team of the college management officials led by Principal Dr ME Bhanoji Rao, director Dr J Surya Rao and chairperson J Jayalakshmi discussed with them and assured them to fulfill most of their genuine demands at the earliest.

However, they threatened that they would resume their agitation if the demands are not met as assured.
