The Brahmapur police on Monday installed the Global Positioning System (GPS) in all its four PCR vans to track criminal activities and act promptly in the city.
Each of the four PCR vans would patrol in their respective areas round the clock. The vans can get information about criminal activities through the GPS system and reach the spot directly.
Each PCR van is now equipped with a phone and an internet system. The police personnel on duty can receive calls through the phone and complaint messages online directly and act in five to 10 minutes.
Similarly, the SP, the Traffic Control Room and the denizens can know about the location where a PCR van is patrolling at a specific point of time though the internet. The patrolling system would be more effective with the system, SDPO Pradip Pattnaik said while addressing a Press conference here.
Pattnaik informed that people can directly contact with the patrolling personnel in Phone No-94375 82100 and inform about crimes incidents from any part of the city.
