B'pur MlA urges Govt to take over three schools

Published on:

MlA Dr Ramesh Chandra Chyaupatnaik on Wednesday urged Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to take steps for early takeover of three schools, KC High School, KC Town High School and KC Girl’s High School by the Government.

The MlA made this demand after examining all documents placed by a team of Sanskarbadi members, intellectuals and former students.

The team led by Sanskarbadi president Trinath Moharana met Chaupatnaik and held discussion on the proposal of taking over the three schools by the Government.

The members said the Government had approved the letter of the school management committees for taking over the schools way back on January 30, 1997. Though this was taken up in a Cabinet meeting, it was not approved..

After scrutinising of all documents Chaupatnaik has demanded that the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, School and Mass Education Minister and Education Secretary take necessary steps for taking over the three non-plan schools by the Government.

Moharana urged the intellectuals, former students and teachers to hold agitation in coming days if the demands are not met.
