The new modern bus terminus built by the Brahmapur Development Authority (BDA) at Haladiapada here has not been made operational even after four months of its inauguration. The new bus stand built at a cost of Rs 13.65 crore had been inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on February 2.
While the terminus has been constructed to short out traffic problem in the city area, due to nonoperational, it has now turned out to be a ghost house. Traffic problem in the city has also risen these days.
Meanwhile, denizens have expressed unhappiness over nonfunctional of the bus terminus. “It seems that the terminus was built to serve interests of contractors and officers,” alleged some city residents. Similarly, some others wanted to know why the terminus was inaugurated in haste if there were problems for making it functional.
