Police have cracked the bombing case in Dhipa Sahi of lanjipalli here on July 8. The cops after investigations have been able to find out the mastermind, who prepared the blueprint for the attack.
Sunil Panigrahi alias Sunil, who is presently lodged in Bhanjanagar jail is the mastermind behind the attack. On Sunil’s instructions a few local youth carried out the bombing. The main motive was to eliminate Susant Bisoi, said Brahmapur SP Pinaki Mishra in a Press meet here on Wednesday.
Police have arrested nine youths in connection with the incident and forwarded them to court.
The arrestees have been identified as Raja Dash, Bapi Mishra, Santosh Sethi, Dipun Nayak, Pinti Behera Sunil Mishra, Rabindra Dash, Susanta Sahu and Sanyasi Sethi. Police have seized four motorcycles, five mobile phones and some live bombs from their possession, said Mishra.
After the bomb attack on Susanta’s car near the Durga Mandap in lanjipalli, police scrutinised the CCTV installed in the Kalyan Mandap. While police have found four people present on the spot during the bombing, two youths, who hurled the bombs have managed to elude the police dragnet. Police are planning to take Sunil on remand for interrogation. It is being discussed that as Sunil is under the protection ofa Minister of Ganjam district , the cops are reluctant to touch him. But after his interrogation more secrets can be revealed.
Among others, ASP Trinath Patel, ASP Santanu Dash, SDPO Pravat Routray, Big Bazaar police station IIC Suresh Tripathy, BNpur PS IIC Jayakrushna Patnaik were present.
