Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday made a surprise visit here to take stock of the progress of the construction work of the Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and held discussions with senior officials of the college. Patnaik expressed satisfaction over the progress of
construction work and said, “The Baripada medical college is a dream come true for the people of Mayurbhanj. I am satisfied with the ongoing construction work and will review the progress every two weeks.”
He further said the college would become functional this educational year.
Notably, the Supreme Court’s Mandate Oversight Committee on May 14 gave its nod for intake of students at the medical college after the State Government had sought the apex court’s intervention.
