The World Day for Prevention of Child Abuse was observed here on Thursday jointly by the PECUC and Sikhyasandhan in collaboration with the Terre des Hommes and AEI.

Children from various schools of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Khordha districts participated in the one-day consultation programme.

Student members like Silpa Das, Basanti Maharana, Jajnasini Mohanta Subala Dehury, Bapi Dehury and Shroti Ranjan Patnaik addressed mediapersons on this occasion. They, while speaking about various issues, emphasised that children should be provided schools within their reach and there should be no discrimination among boys and girls. They too demanded that Government should stop child marriage and child labour and ensure all children of food safety and sanitation at schools. Similarly, teachers should not use children for their personal work, they said.
