A Class-X student sustained injuries in his eyebrow and in other parts of his body as he was assaulted by a teacher in his school on Monday.
The victim, a student of the Hatina based-Laxmi Barah High School under Rajnagar block, was allegedly caned by the teacher Arabinda Das.
After the recess time, Das, the Geography teacher, had gone to take a class. He found the victim was not concentrating on his study in the class. Irked, Das thrashed him black and blue.
The victim’s father lodged an FIR at the Rajnagar police station against Das subsequently.
