A 12-year old minor Tanzim Hasan, died on Monday after he fell into Usri waterfall on the Giridih-Dhanbad road,while trying to take a selfie here on Monday. The incident took place when he lost his footing while balancing on a precarious edge while trying to take a selfie.
After getting information about the incident, Sadar SDPO Anil Singh, Sadar Circle Officer Ravibhushan Prasad and Muffsil police station in-Charge Vinay Ram also reached the spot. Where the relatives of the deceased minor had also reached.Firefighters and police were still trying to locate his body on Monday.
Police sources said that the minor was a resident of Hutti Bazar in Tanjim city. He had reached the waterfall in the afternoon on Sunday weekend lockdown with his nine friends to visit the waterfall with a rented Toto.
According to police,the friends of the deceased kept the incident hidden from the people of their locality all day on Sunday.
When Tanzeem did not return home late in the evening on Sunday, the family started searching for Tanjim.
