Brahmapur Vigilance police on Wednesday arrested Boudh district in-charge Excise Superintendent Pradeep luha for taking bribe. Vigilance sleuths swung into action after one Subodh Chandra Dani of Dani Sahi in Boudh district lodged a complaint alleging that luha has been demanding Rs10,000 for renewal of excise licence.
The rented residential house of the Excise top officer has also been searched. Meanwhile, Baleswar Vigilance officials on Wednesday arrested one Khunta police station Sub-Inspector Bhagaban Paschima Kabat in Mayurbhanj district for taking Rs7,000 bribe from one Hushikesh Pashima Kabat for not arresting his family members. He was remanded to 14 days of judicial custody after the Special Vigilance Judge Court at Baripada rejected his bail plea.
