The Vigilance police on Monday caught Boudh Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum president’s Steno Manmath Kumar Gadanayak red-handed while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 from one Satya Pradhan of village Nuapalli in the district.
Gadnayak had demanded the bribe for expeditious disposal of the complainant’s consumer case against the officials of Southco for arbitrary enhancement of his energy charges.
Based on the complaint, the Vigilance sleuths laid a trap and caught the accused while taking the bribe money. His residential quarter at Boudh was searched. Gadnayak was arrested and forwarded to court.
