A man lost his eyes and a hand while his wife and children had a close shave after miscreants threw a bottle bomb on their house on Sunday noon.
The victim was identified as Dharanidhar Sahu (40).The incident was reported from Karadi village under Harbhanga Police limits in Boudh district.
According to the sources, the incident occurred while the family members were asleep after lunch. Meanwhile, the miscreants threw a bottle bomb into their bedroom. Dharanidhar woke up and spotted a red light on the bomb.
He swung into action and ran away with the bomb to save his wife and children. However, the bomb went off while he was about to exit through the main door.
Family members rescued and admitted Dharanidhar to the District Headquarters Hospital.Then he was shifted to SCB Medical College and
Hospital in Cuttack for advanced treatment. The police registered a case over a complaint lodged by the victim’s younger brother Manoranjan Sahu and started a probe.
The police said the attack might be the fallout of past enmity, while no one was arrested yet.
