Vigilance police have arrested Boudh Assistant Horticulture Officer (AHO) Birendra Kumar Patnaik for misappropriating Government money of Rs38 lakh. Patnaik is a native of Dadhimachgadia village of Khordha district.
During an investigation, Patnaik was found falsely sanctioning Rs19 lakh in the name of Krishna Chandra Sahu and Rs19 lakh in one Rashmiranjan Parida’s name under the National Horticulture Mission.
The plot of one Mamata Sharma of Boudh, who resides in Delhi, had been shown as project land for the two sanctions.
It was also found that a project had also been earlier sanctioned on the same plot.
