The State Assembly on Tuesday witnessed pandemonium as both the ruling party and Opposition created ruckus by raising different issues in the House.

The trouble started as soon as the Question Hour was over to take up the Zero Hour business.

Opposition BJP members trooped into the Well of the House and shouted slogans against the absence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. They accused the Chief Minister of not respecting the House and remaining absent during important debates.

Leader of Opposition Jayanarayan Mishra (BJP) alleged that the Chief Minister ignored the Assembly and visited Mumbai to receive a sports award which he claimed was a “sponsored one”.

The Congress members also rushed into the Well and shouted slogans raising the murder of Health Minister Naba Das issue and the deteriorating law and order situation in the State.

To counter the Opposition members, their ruling BJD counterparts holding placards raised slogans on their seats against the Centre for neglecting the State in releasing funds and houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

As chaotic situation prevailed, the Speaker adjourned the house till 4 pm.
