A book on former Odisha Chief Minister and present Assam Governor JB Patnaik was released at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Thursday.
The book titled Janaki Ballabh Patnaik: The March to a Modern Odisha was unveiled by Dr Karan Singh, president of ICCR in the presence of President Pranab Mukherjee, who received the first copy of the book. Mukherjee hailed JB Patnaik’s leadership and his vision for Odisha’s development. He recalled his days with Patnaik as a Union Minister when Indira Gandhi as Prime Minister.
The book, edited by Sambad editor Soumya Ranjan Patnaik and Assam-based journalist Wasbir Hussain and published by Ama Odisha, contains writings by noted personalities on JB Patnaik and his contribution towards the making of modern Odisha during his tenure as CM.
JB Patnaik, who is the Governor of Assam since 2009, was CM of Odisha from 1980 to 1989 and again from 1995 to 1999, holding that post for the longest time on record so far.
