Sprinter Bonita lakra, who has made the State proud clinching gold and silver in the World Police Games held in los Angeles this year, left the sports hostel here alleging ill-treatment by the authorities.
Bonita is now back to her barrack, where she had staying following joining the police service as a constable.
Bonita, on a proposal of the Sports Department after her los Angeles achievement, was staying at the women’s sports hostel since December 5. She alleged that she was denied breakfast in the morning. When she asked hostel superintendent Kalu Choudhury for not being served breakfast, the latter “clarified” that there was no such provision mentioned in the office order and that She is a Government service holder. “How could I make arrangement for food outside staying at the hostelIJ I felt insulted and I will never return the hostel,” she told media.
