Unidentified goons on Monday night hurled bombs at district Congress vice-president Sricharana Rout’s residence at Salijanga village under Patasara Panchayat, 6 km from here. No damage occurred to the house. On being informed, police reached the spot and recovered a crude bomb lying in the house premises and collected bomb materials from the explosion site.
When the Congress leader was resting in his house, two motor cycle borne goons stopped in front of house and threw bombs. The entire environment was filled up with smokes. Taking advantage of the smokes, the miscreants disappeared from the spot. Rout lodged an FIR in Jagatsinghpur police station soon after. Meanwhile, the police have launched a manhunt.
