Unidentified miscreants hurled as many as three country-made bombs at the house of BJD leader Kanhu Sahoo at Madhisahi in Kamakhyanagar in Dhenkanal district in the early hours of Tuesday.
The bike-borne miscreants hurled the bombs at the house of Sahoo but it hit his car and damaged it. Sahoo was the former district vice-president of the BJD youth wing.
Sahoo filed a complaint at the Kamakhyanagar police station, basing on which cops registered a case and initiated a probe. Police also recovered two live bombs from the spot.
A police officer said they were scrutinising the CCTV footage from the area to identify and trace the culprits. Further investigations were on to ascertain the motive behind the crime.
