Bombs hurled at ASI's residence in Kendrapada

Two motorbike-borne miscreants on Sunday morning hurled two bombs at the house of ASI of Pattamundai police station Nrushingha Charan Swain at Bandhakata village.

Patkura police station IIC Nilakantha Prasad Patra, under whose jurisdiction Swain’s village comes, said while the ASI was absent and there were only a few female members in the house, the bombs were hurled. Nobody reportedly sustained injury. Only some portion of the wall of the house was damaged.

On being informed, a police team rushed to the spot and started an inquiry by seizing the remnants of the exploded bombs. A case under Section 9 (b) of the Indian Explosive Act was registered and raids were being conducted to nab the miscreants.

“As my son is a police officer, so in order to take revenge some anti socials might have done such thing,” said Aiena Swain, the septuagenarian mother of the ASI, who was present in the house and preparing breakfast for the family when the miscreants hurled the bombs.

Reportedly, Swain was recently felicitated by the SP of Kendrapada as one of the best ASI in the district for his dedication and hard work in police department.
