A former Mayor of the Berhampur Municipal Corporation escaped unhurt after miscreants threw a bomb at his vehicle here on Friday night.
The incident occurred at around 10.30 pm when Berhmapur ex-Mayor Shiv Shankar Das alias Pintu Das was returning to his home.
According to reports, a few youths threw the bomb at Das’ vehicle near Bada Sahi in the Gosaninuagaon area. The front portion of the vehicle was damaged. However, Das sustained no injuries in the incident.
Though the reason behind the attack was still obscure, it was suspected that the attack might have been carried out over political enmity.
