An unidentified youth hurled a bomb at the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) office here on Wednesday morning. However, there were no reports of loss of life or property in the bombing.
The incident took place at around 8 am. The bomb exploded near the window of the Zilla Parishad President’s chamber. An AC was partially damaged in the explosion, sources said.
According to reports, a Zilla Parishad council meeting was scheduled to be held today at 10 am. Some officials who were present on the first floor of the office, rushed to the ground floor after the blast. On being informed about the incident, the Town police reached the spot and started investigation. It was yet to be confirmed whether the explosive material was a bomb or cracker.
