Vigilance police on Wednesday caught Khordha district’s Bolagarh tehsil’s Dhalapathara Revenue Inspector (RI) Biswajit Badajena for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs 6,000 from Muralidhar Dash of Gouda Nuagaon village to submit enquiry reports in 11 mutation cases filed by him.
He was arrested and forwarded to court. Later he was taken on remand to the judicial custody till August 28. Investigation was on.
Badajena had earlier been charge-sheeted in a Bhubaneswar Vigilance case for possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The case is still subjudice, informed the release.
