A Bol Bom devotee, while carrying holy water to a Shiva temple, died when a truck ran over him near the Gunthi junction on NH-5 (A) under the Badachana police station in Jajpur district on Monday afternoon.
At least three other devotees, who were accompanying the victim, also sustained serious injuries due to the mishap.
The deceased, according to police, was Arata Pradhan (32), a native of Sanabandala village under the Badachana police station. The injured were shifted to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack, said IIC Badachana PS Ranjit Sahoo.
