A six-month-old boy, who had died three days ago due to illness and thereafter had been buried in a graveyard, was again brought out from the burial place on Monday for postmortem after his father lodged a complaint against a druggist that due to the latter’s wrong medicine, his son died.

Police are now investigating the case and are waiting for the postmortem report to take action against the druggist. Sources said Bimal Toppo of luakera slum area near Sector-14 in Rourkela alleged before police that his son Arbin was suffering from fever and cough.

On August 8 morning, he and his wife along with Arbin had gone to Sector-14 based Jaydurga Medicine Store to see a doctor there. But when the doctor was absent, Jayadurga medicine store owner Manoj lenka had prescribed medicine.

The couple came back home with medicine  and later gave it to Arbin. Soon after, the kid became critical and died on way to the hospital.

Grief-stricken Toppo and his family members buried the body in a nearby graveyard. But thereafter Toppo was told by the villagers that due to wrong medicine given by medicine shop owner, his kid died.

On Sunday evening irate villagers went to Jayadura Medicine Store and beat shop owner lenka and his other staff. After getting information, Sector-14 police rushed to the spot.

Toppo lodged a FIR against Manoj. On Monday, in presence of a Magistrate, the police brought out the coffin and sent the body for post mortem.
