A video showing some villagers of Chakamal under the Chandahandi police satiation in Nabarangpur district wading through neck-deep water on a culvert while carrying a dead body on their shoulders has gone viral in social media.
According to reports, the people waded through neck-deep water carrying a corpse of one Maniram Sunani who died on Saturday on their shoulder as the villagers do not have a burial ground nearby.
Every year, when it rains, the residents of Chakamal village go through the same ordeal. The connectivity to the present burial ground was snapped due to poor road and overflowing of rainwater on the bridge, alleged villagers.
